Manifesting and Goal Setting

Published by kkeicher at 1:48 pm under Self-Improvement Edit This

It seems that as the year 2012 approaches, the overall consciousness of the planet’s population is shifting to higher expectations of both themselves and of everyone else too. More and more people are seeking topics like this one that can help them become better personally, so that they may be examples of how to live, teaching by being role models, instead of by preaching. Courses and articles on manifesting your life are abundant on the Internet, but just because you see the phrase ‘how to manifest’ as the subject, it doesn’t mean that you will get what you are looking for.

Goal setting principles are basic, common-sense practices that will bring you what you want, and these have been around for as long as man has been around. If you follow the guidelines for setting goals, you can achieve your desires. I know this to be true because I have done it and it does work. It’s a simple matter of making a list of the things you want to accomplish, placing time frames and priorities on the items.

Let’s say that you would like to be wealthy and that is one of the goals on your list. You’ve established an estimated time frame of 5 years from now and perhaps it is in the number one position on your list of priorities. Here are some of your guidelines, things that you must do to help make it happen: 1) Decide to be wealthy and write that down as part of your goal. 2) Be wise about how and where you spend your money. That’s just plain common sense. 3) Put 10% of your income aside and don’t touch it. Of course you can’t accumulate wealth in the traditional sense if you don’t keep some of your money. Again, common sense tells you this. With goal setting, you must also take action to make it happen.

Goal setting will create what you want and that’s a fact. However, it is still not the same as what most people consider to be manifesting your life. Simply stated, to manifest, you think it, you say it, and then it happens. It doesn’t require that you really change anything else that you’re doing, because it’s happening on a higher or deeper level. Goal setting does create energy just like manifesting does, but as you can see by looking at the time frames in your list, it isn’t going to happen immediately, because the energy you create to make it real is limited by time. It’s simple to see. Manifesting, using your thoughts and your words, can make things happen almost immediately with practice. It is truly totally different from goal setting, although goal setting could be a stepping stone to true manifesting.

True manifesting is the art of creating something out of nothing. Using your mind to manifest requires belief that you can do anything and everything you want to do, which also includes keeping a positive attitude and mindset. And it requires practice and perseverance, just like everything else that you want to program your self to do in life.
